In the early hours of last Wednesday night a 29-year-old man was found lying unconscious on Division Street in the city centre.
The man had several broken bones and serious facial injuries, a passer by called an ambulance and the man’s mother using the 29-year-old’s phone.
Help arrived and he was taken to hospital - but police say his injuries "are not consistent with a fall" and so think he may have been the victim of an assault.
