Plans to introduce permanent bollards around Trent Bridge cricket ground and Nottingham Forest's City Ground are being considered next week.

Temporary barriers along the road were installed in the summer ahead of an England Test match and in the wake of terror attacks in London - although the council stressed there was no specific threat to the city.

If approved, this latest scheme is estimated to cost about £850,000.

Nottinghamshire County Council said the proposed bollards will "help with crowd control and serve the same purpose as the temporary barriers."
