    Police 48-year-old Steffan Goodall has been found safe after being reported missing from the Sutton-in-Ashfield area earlier.

  9. Assault charge after man suffers injured ear

    A 27-year-old man has been charged with GBH after another man suffered an injured ear during an assault in Broxtowe.

    Nottinghamshire Police said the 28-year-old was attacked in Beckley Road at about 00:25 on New Year's Day.

    The suspect, from Old Basford, has been remanded into custody.

  10. Air con starts fire at city centre shop

    A fire on the roof of a city centre shop has been put out.

    It began when the air conditioning unit above White Stuff and Cath Kidston in Nottingham burst in to flames at around 15:00 today.

    Three fire engines were sent to Bridlesmith Gate and put it out before it could do any serious damage but they accidentally smashed the window of the nearby Cafe Nero in the process, fire station manager Christian Brown believes.

  12. Father out of hospital after family killed in fire

    A man who lost his wife and two children in a house fire in Collingham has been released from hospital.

    Justine Collison, 33, died in the Woodhill Road blaze last month along with eight-year-old Isabella and five-year-old Harvey.

    Gavin Collison, 34, suffered serious injuries in the fire, the cause of which is still being investigated by Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.

  13. Fire crews at city centre café

    Three fire engines are currently dealing with an "incident" next to a city centre café.

    The crews were called to Tokenhouse Yard, next to Caffé Nero in Nottingham's Bridlesmith Gate at 14:56 today.

    A section of the street has been taped off and photos from the scene show a window has been smashed with shattered glass on the pavement.

  14. Your comments: Rising cost of rail fares

    Lots of you have been commenting on the increasing cost of rail fares.

    Rail fares have increased by an average of 3.1% in England and Wales despite a raft of issues on the network in 2018.

    Terry Evans said: "This will put more cars on the roads, surely reduced fares will keep the car at home."

    James Scott Connors said: "Privatisation was supposed to be good for the train user, to increase competition between rail companies and lower prices. If you want to travel to London direct from Nottingham, how many choices of company are there? Oh yes, just the one."

    Terry Ward said: "If only we could get together and have a people's strike, for two weeks and hit them in the wallet."

  15. Man reported missing in Sutton-in-Ashfield

    An appeal's gone out to find 48-year-old Steffan Goodall, who was reported missing from the Sutton-in-Ashfield area earlier today.

    He was wearing skinny black jeans and and an olive-coloured jacket when he was last seen. Contact Nottinghamshire Police if you can help.
