A 27-year-old man has been charged with GBH after another man suffered an injured ear during an assault in Broxtowe.
Nottinghamshire Police said the 28-year-old was attacked in Beckley Road at about 00:25 on New Year's Day.
The suspect, from Old Basford, has been remanded into custody.

A fire on the roof of a city centre shop has been put out.
It began when the air conditioning unit above White Stuff and Cath Kidston in Nottingham burst in to flames at around 15:00 today.

Three fire engines were sent to Bridlesmith Gate and put it out before it could do any serious damage but they accidentally smashed the window of the nearby Cafe Nero in the process, fire station manager Christian Brown believes.
Rail fares have increased by an average of 3.1% in England and Wales despite a raft of issues on the network in 2018.

Father out of hospital after family killed in fire

A man who lost his wife and two children in a house fire in Collingham has been released from hospital.
Justine Collison, 33, died in the Woodhill Road blaze last month along with eight-year-old Isabella and five-year-old Harvey.
Gavin Collison, 34, suffered serious injuries in the fire, the cause of which is still being investigated by Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Three fire engines are currently dealing with an "incident" next to a city centre café.
The crews were called to Tokenhouse Yard, next to Caffé Nero in Nottingham's Bridlesmith Gate at 14:56 today.
A section of the street has been taped off and photos from the scene show a window has been smashed with shattered glass on the pavement.
