Recorded crime across Lincolnshire rises by 1%

Martin Slack

BBC Lincolnshire Live

Lincolnshire has one of the lowest crime rates in England and Wales and offending's fallen sharply over the last decade in the county.

But today's crime figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that last year recorded crime in Lincolnshire rose overall by 1%.

BBC

The ONS says that's partly down to an increase of a third in reported sex offences as high-profile cases have prompted more victims to come forward.

The police also recorded more violence and weapons offences. But theft was down by 6% per cent and domestic burglary in Lincolnshire, fell by 8%.
