A closer look at Rio hopeful Sophie Wells

She's only 25 but Lincoln's Paralympian Sophie Wells is already a well decorated veteran when it comes to equestrian events.

As well as winning three medals at London 2012 (two silvers and a gold) she's also has also ridden as an able-bodied athlete at the Young Rider European Dressage Championships and the Young Rider World Cup, and now rides at Grand Prix.

Her efforts on home soil four years ago secured this, just in front of the cathedral.

Longer seasons for coastal caravan parks

Owners of caravan parks on the Lincolnshire coast will be able to keep their sites open for longer during the winter. 

East Lindsey District Council has approved plans to extend the season for business owners.

Louth man jailed over car smash

A man who was driving a vehicle that crashed into a property has been jailed.

Kyle Rance, 30, has been jailed for two-and-a-half years after being found guilty of three counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He's also been banned for driving for five years.

The crash was in June 2014 on Edward Street when Rance, of Eastgate, Louth, crashed a Seat Leon into a property causing injury to his passengers and the owner of the house.

Scunthorpe United announce deal with British Steel

Scunthorpe United and British Steel have announced a new partnership that will use steel forged in the town to build the club's new stadium.

The football team's new kit for the 2016-17 season will also be sponsored by the company.

Coroner investigates 'tragic accident' in Spalding

The death of a child who fell into a pond has been referred to a coroner. 

The 19-month-old was at his grandparents at Gosberton Risegate near Spalding when the accident happened at the weekend. 

The boy, who lived in Peterborough, was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham.

Missing woman found safe and well

Police say Eva Wells, a 51-year-old who went missing in North Lincolnshire, has been found safe and well.

Casualty airlifted from A52 crash

Emergency services are at the scene of the A52 crash which involved two vehicles at about 09:30. 

A woman has been airlifted to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham as a precaution.

Diversions are in place as the road remains closed.

Final warning for Lincolnshire officer

A Lincolnshire police sergeant who admitted using inappropriate force on a detainee has been given a final written warning. 

Sergeant Phillipa Rowson faced a misconduct hearing following a complaint by a detainee at Skegness police station last April. 

The hearing said a final written warning was a sufficient deterrent.

Bravery award for Lincolnshire officer

A police officer whose quick-thinking prevented a potential major incident has been nominated for a bravery award.

PC Danielle Crompton managed to stop a vehicle with an unconscious driver who had suffered a seizure by driving her police car into the vehicle on the A46 bypass.

The officer will attend the awards ceremony at Downing Street this afternoon.
