    A shop owner in Lincoln was assaulted with a knife in a desperate bid to foil an armed robber.

  5. Cyclist knocked off bike in hit-and-run

    A man in his 50s is recovering after being knocked off his bike while cycling in Sturton by Stow.

    It happened at about 16:15 on 27 July.

    The man wasn't seriously hurt in the incident which involved a silver or dark grey car at the Tillbridge Lane junction with Saxilby Road.

    Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to contact police.

  6. Lincoln Knights targeted by vandals again

    Lincolnshire Police says another one of the city's Knight statues has been vandalised.

    Artists have painted 36 knights as part of a trail on the streets of the city.

    They commemorate the 800th anniversary of the Battle of Lincoln.

  7. Wyberton woodyard fire: Response scaled down

    Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue says soon there'll only be one fire crew dealing with what's left of a blaze at Lincolnshire Firewood in Wyberton.

    The fire broke out at about 07:30 this morning and at its height eight crews were in attendance.

    Firefighters had to use specialist equipment to try and bring it under control.

  8. Jail for Boston school caretaker after child sex offences

    A school caretaker from Boston who admitted sexual offences against three underage girls has been jailed for three years.

    Lincoln Crown Court heard how Bryan Pauly, 44, of Hospital Lane, was caught after a teenage girl complained he'd asked to enter a toilet cubical she was in before asking for a kiss.

    Following this complaint, the police managed to trace two other victims.

    Pauly, a father of two, pleaded guilty to four charges of sexual assault on a child under 13, one charge of sexual activity with a child, and one charge of attempting to incite a child under 16.

    He'll also be on the sex offenders register for life.

  9. Have you seen missing Joshua Eccleston?

    Police say they're concerned about a vulnerable 16-year-old boy who's gone missing from his home in Grimsby.

    Joshua Eccleston was last seen riding his bike around the Sheraton Drive area of Humberston at about 13:20 today.

    Police say he doesn't normally go beyond the street where he lives so might be worried about being away from home.

    They also say he's friendly, but his speech isn't always clear.

    If you see Joshua, please call police on the 101 number to help get him home.

  11. Watch: Lincoln cancer-nursing cat scoops national award

    A rescue cat from Lincoln who helped her owner through bone cancer treatment has been named National Cat of the Year.

    Genie was honoured for comforting her owner Evie Henderson, 11, through six rounds of chemotherapy.

    Evie was diagnosed with bone cancer in March 2016 and says Genie's company helped her cope with several painful operations and long spells in hospital.

    The cat has been recognised by feline charity Cats Protection at a ceremony in London:

    It's claimed new housing schemes planned for Lincolnshire are being threatened by a shortage of bricks and higher prices for bricks:

  15. Rare albino seal pup rescued by Natureland Seal Sanctuary

    Take a look at this little guy...

    He was rescued by Natureland Seal Sanctuary at Skegness after he washed up alone on the beach in Chapel St Leonards last week:

    His rescuers named him Elmo and, as you can tell from his pink eyes and white hair, he has albinism.

    He's less than a month old and was in pretty poor shape when he was found.

    Orphaned, underweight, with wounds to his face and flippers, things weren't looking good.

    But a week on he's in a much better condition, according to Natureland staff.

  16. Listen: Wyberton wood yard fire 'under control'

    We've just spoken to Steven Wright from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue who's coordinating efforts to put out a blaze at Lincolnshire Firewood in Wyberton.

    The fire broke out at about 06:30.

    Mr Wright says that while it's under control, they expect they'll be there for most of the day:
