Alex Wakely described Ben Sanderson as the best bowler in Division Two of the County Championship after his 4-34 set Northamptonshire up for a seven-wicket win at Durham.
Sanderson passed 150 first-class wickets in Durham's second-innings when they were again dismantled, making only 133.
Wakely also rued the fourth-innings slips against Derbyshire and Middlesex recently - Northants could easily have won five games on the bounce now and still be in the promotion race.
All ifs buts and maybes but they will at least enjoy a drink tonight after a two-day win.
A second very efficient display by the Northamptonshire attack has set them up for a comfortable victory here after tea.
Even in a quiet hour after lunch where Cameron Steel went to his fourth Championship fifty of the summer and Paul Collingwood resisted well, Northants remained insistent and the scoreboard hardly went anywhere.
Richard Gleeson, playing his first Championship match since April after an elbow injury, was back bowling quickly here and picked up three wickets, as did Nathan Buck, while Ben Sanderson went past 150 first-class wickets.
A third win of a difficult season looks a formality now for Northants.
