Those who are trying to find out more about it, are trying to do that without digging. 

They're using scanning equipment and radars to look at the surface and see if there was any previous activity on the site.

The graffiti artist who created the artwork on the side of a nursery building in Gotham said he loved doing the superhero-themed piece because it brought back memories of his dad collecting Marvel and DC comics when he was a child.

"I really got stuck into this one and gave it my all," he said. "I'd just been to see the new Batman vs Superman movie a couple of days before so I was really up for it."

The Loughborough artist has been doing graffiti art for 10 years and said he enjoyed this particular commission because of the link to Gotham.

Cable theft causes 300 trains to be delayed

We told you this morning about problems on the trains between Nottingham and Mansfield because of a cable theft.

Earlier this week Network Rail told the BBC these type of thefts have caused more than 300 trains to be delayed or cancelled in the last month.

She said: “I’d seen quite a lot of Buber Nebz’s street art and it’s absolutely fantastic.

Friends search for man missing in Benidorm

A search is taking place for a Nottinghamshire man who has gone missing in Benidorm. Friends of John Elkington have been sharing an appeal on Facebook to try and find him after he left his phone and passport in a bar last month.

Trevor Kirkman, senior coroner for Rutland and North Leicestershire, said Mr Catley's death was "tragic and untimely".  

Paying tribute to him, Jack Storey from the West Bridgford-based ØVB cycling club, said: "Jason was known as a extraordinarily passionate competitor and talented cyclist.

"You could rely on Jason to lift your spirits whilst on the bike and his encouragement was felt by many who raced with him."

Cyclist died after hitting road sign

An inquest has heard a cyclist from Nottinghamshire died after he hit a road sign at 40mph at the end of a race, known as the Curve of Doom.

Jason Catley, 44, from Screveton, had competed in several cycling events and lost control of his bike near Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire last June.

Mr Catley suffered serious head injuries in the crash and went into cardiac arrest.

Taylor leaves hospital after 'procedure'

Batsman James Taylor has left hospital after a "preliminary procedure" on the heart condition which caused his retirement.

A spokesman from the club said Taylor would continue his recovery at home and "be tested and monitored to determine future treatment".

New marathon route announced

Caravan set alight after police tweet

Nottinghamshire Police's rural officers found this caravan abandoned on Grange Lane, Cottam, yesterday afternoon and jokingly tweeted about wanting their "very own mobile rural office".

This morning when they returned, it had been burnt to the ground.

A spokesman for the force said the caravan been set alight at about 01:00 and they were treating it as arson.

Travel: Accident on A52 in Gamston

The A52 Radcliffe Road in Gamston is closed because of an accident. Traffic is slow between the Gamston Island and the Bassingfield Lane junction.

Prolific shoplifter banned from shopping centres

A prolific shoplifter in the city centre has been jailed after he stole from several stores in the Broadmarsh and Victoria shopping centres and threatened retail and security staff.

John Chattin, 27, of Shakespeare Street, Nottingham, was already serving a 13-week sentence for theft, and so the new sentence will run alongside this.

Chattin was also handed a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) which bans him from going into Nottingham's two shopping centres.

Dilemma for Derry's Notts supporting dad

As Shaun Derry brings his Cambridge United team to Notts County this weekend, there's a dilemma for his dad.

It's the first time Derry's come back to Meadow Lane since being sacked by the Magpies just over a year ago but his dad is a Notts fan.

Anne Monks, leader of the spiritualist church, says they intend to use the new building in Wilford five times a week, and the rest of the time it will be available for community use.

"We read our prayers and sing our hymns like any ordinary church," she said.

Kathryn Smith, 23, of Sandfield Road, Nottingham, was jailed for at least 24 years earlier this month for murdering her 21-month-old daughter Ayeeshia Smith.

Residents worried about size of new church building

The spiritualist church, which is led by a medium and holds clairvoyant sessions, has submitted a planning application to the city council detailing what it intends to do with the library that closed in 2010.  

Andrew Rule, Conservative councillor for Clifton North, said residents had concerns about the size of the new building and parking.

He said: "People have lost a site that was a big treasure in the community and there is a big question mark over the future of its community use."

Church wants to reopen community centre

This is the empty community centre in Wilford that the West Bridgford Spiritualist Church wants to demolish and replace with a new centre.

They say it will provide a new meeting room for spiritualists and a community centre for older people in the area.
