    “Free schools have been at the heart of this government’s education reforms which have seen more than 1.4m more children in good or outstanding schools since 2010," he said on a visit to an academy in West London.

    Final score was 2-1, with Blackstock and Burke scoring the goals.

  9. No hardship case for Duke

    Mr Rutland didn't attend the hearing where magistrates ordered him to pay £2,550 in fines, £400 in costs and a £75 victim surcharge.

    However his solicitor Lisa Wilson had this to say: "He does not wish to put forward an argument of exceptional hardship. 

    "The court may consider that with the title he has and the property he resides in the defendant is of considerable means."

  10. Duke drove 23mph above speed limit in Lowdham

    The Duke's Nottinghamshire offences were committed in Lowdham, where, on one of the two occasions, he was clocked at 73mph in a 50mph zone.

    The North Yorkshire offence was on the A1 between Scotch Corner and Barton when he did 61mph in a 50 zone.

    And he was caught doing 37mph in a 30 zone on the A61 near Chesterfield.

    Strelley Road is closed in both directions in Bilborough between the A6002 Bilborough Road and Wigman Road because of a crash. 

    Diversion in place along Helston Drive, Flamsteed Road and Moor Road.

  13. Driving ban for Duke of Rutland

    The Duke of Rutland, resident of Belvoir Castle (pictured) and one of the wealthiest aristocrats in the country, has been banned from driving.

    David Charles Rutland appeared at Northallerton Magistrates Court for speeding twice in Nottinghamshire, once in North Yorkshire and again in Derbyshhire - all within eight months.

    He was given 15 points on his licence (bringing it to a total of 24), ordered to pay £3,025 in fines and costs and banned from driving for a year.
