  4. Police name pensioner killed in Hilton crash

    A 75-year-old man who was killed after being hit by a car being chased by police has been named as Barry Arkesden from Hilton.

    Mr Arkesden was a pedestrian and hit in Main Street on 11 April.

    Matthew Hogg, 24, from Etwall was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and has been remanded into custody.

  5. Lamp-post knocked down at Long Eaton park

    Here are the photos of the latest damage at West Park in Long Eaton.

    Park users found a lamppost had been pulled down this morning, along with some goal posts.

    It's after 25 newly planted trees were vandalised at the weekend. 

    Anyone with information about the vandalism has been asked to contact police by calling 101.

  6. More passengers expected on East Midlands Trains

  8. Leicester teenager reported missing

    The teenager was last seen at 22:00 last night in New Parks.

  11. Cannabis hoard worth thousands

    The cannabis plants were found in the Farm House Restaurant on Cordy Lane, Brinsley which has been empty for some time.

    Before it was a restaurant it was a pub called The Yew Tree.

    Nottinghamshire Police said the cannabis found by officers had a street value of £500,000.

    Insp Steve Wragg said they were tipped off about some "activity" at the disused building this morning and arrested the man at the scene.

    "This is an extraordinarily large grow to be found in Nottinghamshire and it's always a shock to make these sorts of discoveries." 

  12. More parking at Loughborough station

    Good news for users of Loughborough Railway Station - an extra 50 car parking spaces are going to be created.

    The spaces will be in a new car park to the left of the current entrance on a piece of land currently unused by Network Rail.

  13. Murder probe: Villager tried to help driver

    One of the residents of Grassmoor has told BBC East Midlands Today she helped the driver of the car before he was taken to hospital.

    She said: "I hear a noise and commotion and looked out of the window and saw the motorbike and the elderly gentleman, and helped him out as much as I could.

    "It's just shocking."

  14. Large cannabis farm found at former restaurant

    A 26-year-old man has been arrested after 1,000 cannabis plants were found inside a former restaurant in Brinsley, Nottinghamshire.

    Officers discovered the plants, which were growing in 10 rooms of the two-storey building, this morning.

    Father of the House of Commons, Ken Clarke, is to stand again. 

    He always said he would stand down at the 2020 election, and it's clearly not 2020.

    And the Rushcliffe seat has avoided the Boundary Commission axe.
