'We showed character'

Stoke 2-2 Man Utd

Stoke City

Stoke captain Darren Fletcher, speaking to BT Sport: "What a team performance. The work rate and the attitude was great. We went 2-1 down and came back again.

"We showed a lot of character. Choupo-Moting deserved his goals just for his work-rate alone.

"We showed confidence and played some good football on the ball. We have had a good start to the season because we have had some difficult games."

'Stoke were superb'

Stoke 2-2 Man Utd

Mike Pejic

Former Stoke defender on BBC Radio Stoke

Darren Fletcher showed absolutely superb leadership right until the end. In the second period, that was one of the reasons Stoke matched United's midfield.

Full marks to Stoke. That was absolutely superb. They kept Romelu Lukaku quiet and Paul Pogba found it hard to breakthrough as well.

'De Gea will be disgusted'

Stoke 2-2 Man Utd

Mike Pejic

Mourinho will be going absolutely nuts with Phil Jones. He tripped up over his own feet and it left the attacker unmarked.

De Gea will be disgusted after making that world class save just before.

Wow. What a reaction save that was. That was absolutely world class. There was no time to think about that other than spontaneous reaction and he did enough to push it over the bar.

I can see Mourinho voicing his opinions to the United players and waving his finger. You can see why he's not happy because Stoke have had most of the possession so far in the second half.

After the first 10 minutes we have barely seen Romelu Lukaku. It wouldn't surprise me if he gets the hook for the second-half - even if he did cost £75m.

These players' positions are up for competition.

'Man Utd squad is best equipped'

Stoke v Manchester United (17:30 BST)

Danny Murphy

Former England midfielder on Football Focus

Lukaku is only doing really what he did last season. He's playing with better players will give him better chances, but we're only three games in.

I think Man United are a whole lot better than they were last season. It's positive signs for United. I think their squad is the best equipped. Every position is covered twice, by top quality. The hardest thing for Jose at the moment is keeping them all happy.

'I have seen a change in Lukaku'

Stoke v Manchester United (17:30 BST)

Roberto Martinez

Belgium manager on 5 live

With Romelu Lukaku you can either look at the things he doesn't do on the the pitch or you can highlight his outstanding strengths. He creates chances and he takes chances and he will never lose that. He will always score goals.

It depends on the role you give him in the team. He is ready to take responsibility up front. He is ready for a big role at Manchester United, I have seen a difference in him.

He is thirsty to take the big moment in a game. He is growing with every game he plays at Manchester United. Any player at the age of 24 would not say that they are the finished article. Any player has ups and downs in form.

'United's toughest yet?'

Stoke City v Manchester United (17:30 BST)

Ian Brown

BBC Radio 5 live at bet365 Stadium

The ground on a Staffordshire hill. The storm clouds and the stiffening winds. This is where Manchester United will expose their immaculate record to the whims of Stoke City.

United have not won here since the days of Sir Alex and it was in the fourth game of last season that Mourinho's men dropped their first points of the season. Stoke rediscovered at least some of their abrasive edge in beating Arsenal here three weeks ago - they enjoyed some luck too. But that passionate Potteries atmosphere was back and Mark Hughes expects more of the same.

United's players also have a lot more international miles on the clock and that too will be a factor in making this their most difficult assignment so far.

10 years up for Stoke

Stoke v Manchester United (17:30 BST)

Steve Wilson

Match of the Day commentator

Mark Huighes
Stoke

What do the following clubs have in common: Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham and Stoke?

They are the only current Premier League clubs who can boast 10 consecutive years in the top flight.

That's no mean achievement for Stoke, whose development as a club has been overseen carefully and wisely by chairman Peter Coates.

Manchester United are reacquainting themselves with the feeling of being at the very top of the top flight.

They have maximum points from their opening three league games without conceding a goal, and there are signs their old swagger is returning too.

Part of the ring road around Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre's going to be shut for three weeks from Monday.

The county council says, as part of the new Castle House development, it needs to resurface the entrance to the site and remove a lay-by on Barracks Road.

The 26 year-old played for the Vale reserves against Walsall on Tuesday.

He's a free agent since being released by Ipswich, but the Burslem-based club won't be adding him to their books.

There's no deal at all. We've just discussed it with Cameron about him training with us, coming to get himself fit and that's where it's at. It's a case of him coming to training. I knew him at Leeds and we've got to help people out where we can."
