  2. Police appeal after burglary

    Police want to speak to this man in connection with a burglary in Seaford.

    The break-in happened at a house in East Albany Road on 3 or 4 July.

    Someone took a mobile phone and a bag containing bank cards, keys and other personal items.

    The cards were later used to try and withdraw money from cash machines in Seaford and Newhaven.

    Police say the man in this photo may have important information about the incident.

    They're asking anyone who recognises him to get in touch.

  7. Lifeboats in harbour rescue

    A person's been rescued from the sea at Newhaven Harbour.

    Coastguard rescue teams from Newhaven and Birling Gap, along with the Newhaven lifeboat, were called to the scene at 14:00 BST.

    They say the person is now in the care of the emergency services.

    Part-time soldiers from Kent, Sussex and Surrey will be taking part in a live firing practice battle in the US state of Michigan.

    The reservists from the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment will be supported by the full range of American military hardware - including helicopters, heavy artillery, and fighter jets.

    She's already a Special Olympics superstar, but 18-year-old Kiera Byland is on the hunt for more gold medals.

    Last night she co-hosted the opening ceremony in Sheffield for over 2,600 athletes from across the country.

    Today she's competing in the 10k time trial.

    It wasn't easy for Kiera growing up with learning difficulties, but when she discovered cycling, her life changed dramatically.

  14. Scooter rider jailed

    A man has been jailed for six months for dangerous driving on his scooter in Crawley.

    Saif Khan from Ealing, in west London, tailgated cars on the M23 and reached speeds of 100 mph.

    After leaving the motorway at junction 10, the 22-year-old jumped two red lights and drove on the wrong side of a dual carriageway before eventually crashing and breaking his hand.

  15. Police hunt masked man after Horsham attack

    A 23-year-old woman has been sexually assaulted in a car park after a night out in Horsham.

    She was attacked by a masked man in the stairwell of a multi-storey car park in Piries Place.

    It happened at about 02:00 BST on Sunday 6 August.

    Police say the attacker is in his 20s or 30s, 5ft 8in, wearing a balaclava, a long-sleeved top, dark jeans and white trainers.

    He also wore black fabric gloves and smelt strongly of aftershave.
