A police officer who was allegedly attacked with a machete during a traffic stop in east London has returned to work.
PC Stuart Outten, 28, suffered injuries to his head and hand after stopping a van in Leyton just after midnight on 8 August.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that PC Outten had attended an officer safety training assessment on Monday, and that Tuesday was his first day back on duty.
The constable, who followed his father into the police service, received hundreds of cards and messages of support as he recovered from his injuries.
Muhammad Rodwan, 56, who is accused of carrying out the attack denies attempted murder and possession of a machete. He will face trial at the Old Bailey on 14 January.
