James Heappey has been re-elected as the MP for Wells, with an increased majority.
The Conservative candidate beat Liberal Democrat Tessa Munt by 9,991 votes, 2,409 more votes than the majority at the 2017 election. He received 33,336 votes in total this year.

Police are dealing with an incident in St George, Bristol which has led to a road being closed.
Avon and Somerset Police said Church Road was shut between Chalks Road and Sherbourne Street and would be "for some time".
A police spokeswoman said: "Shortly
after 9.30pm last night we were called to Church Road, Bristol after a report
of a collision between a car and a man in which the vehicle failed to stop.
"The
man, aged in his 20s, suffered an arm injury and is currently in hospital
receiving treatment.
"As part of our inquiry into the incident we’re
investigating a report of a theft from a nearby shop.
"The road is currently
closed while specialist officers examine the scene. Enquiries into the
incident, including tracing and locating the driver of the vehicle, are
ongoing."
First Bus said six of its routes were affected by the closure and shuttle buses were in place to take passengers to stops.

Missing stork Daisy set to return home
Wild Zoological Park
A white stork that went missing from a
wild birds flight show at a zoo in the Midlands, is heading home after
being found in Somerset.
Daisy, who is only a few months old, flew
more than 100 miles and ended up being captured safely at Ham Wall near Glastonbury.
She is being looked after by Secret
World Wildlife rescue and is due to be transported back to join her siblings at the Wild Zoological Park in
Stourbridge later.
Daisy, who was taking part in a bird show at the zoo when she took off, has a tracker but she was too far away from home for it to work.
