Man arrested in connection with Strabane bomb

The 33-year-old was arrested on Tuesday and remains in police custody.

A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a mortar bomb which was found in Strabane, County Tyrone at the weekend.

The device was found on a wall near houses in Church View on Saturday.

Police described the bomb as "a deadly device" and have blamed the dissident republican group the New IRA.

The man remains in police custody.

Co Down woman tells of sexual abuse by babysitter
When Leanne Truesdale was about six-years-old she was sexually abused by her babysitter George Oliver at her home in Newtownards, County Down.
Ms Truesdale said she became an alcoholic because of the abuse, eventually seeking help for alcoholism in her early 30s.
She said she finally found "closure" when Oliver, now 68, of Dicksonia Drive, Newtownards, pleaded guilty in court last month to indecently assaulting her and received a 14-month suspended prison sentence.

Van driven into house in Londonderry

Police are appealing for witnesses after a van drove into a house in the Glendale Road area of Londonderry on Tuesday evening.

The PSNI said on Twitter that the van, when reversed, was set on fire.

"While thankfully no one was hurt, this was a reckless act."

Man arrested in investigation into dissident republican activity

A man has been arrested in west Belfast as part of an ongoing police investigation into violent dissident republican activity.

The 31-year-old was arrested by PSNI detectives on Thursday under the Terrorism Act.

Police said a quantity of suspected ammunition was seized following a number of searches.
