Museums around the Solway Firth are linking up to form a trail that tourists interested in aviation and military history can follow.
It includes two aviation museums, Silloth Airfield, the birthplace of the founder of the US Navy, and the Devils Porridge Museum, where 30,000 workers made cordite, a vital gunnery ingredient in World War One.
Clair McFarlan, from the group, said the area was used for a wide range of military purposes during the last century, as well as stunning scenery and charming towns and villages.
