Little Mix have announced a British arena tour for next year.

The former X Factor winners have announced an initial run of 14 dates starting in Birmingham on 16 May and ending at the Brighton Centre in June.

The group - made up of Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirwall - released their second album Salute last month.

After winning The X Factor in 2011 with Tulisa Contostavlos, they released a cover of Damien Rice's Cannonball.

Speaking about the tour, the band said: "We're so excited to be preparing for our first arena tour.

"It's incredible to think we'll be playing for so many people every night.

"We are going to be pulling out all the stops to make sure it's as unforgettable for our Mixers as it will be for us."

Their debut album DNA made it to number three on the Official Album Chart with follow-up Salute peaking at four.

The double Brit Award winners have had two number one singles with Cannonball and their second single Wings.

The first track from their latest album, Move, made it to number three on the Official Singles Chart.
