Consumers association Which? has issued a warning to Travelex customers.
It's urging Travelex to complete its investigations into the hacking attack as soon as possible, to put an end to customer uncertainty about wwhether their data has been stolen or not.
However, in the meanwhile it says customers need to watch out for "suspicious" activity on their accounts.
It’s important that anyone who’s used Travelex services – including via other banks – keeps a close eye on their accounts for any signs of suspicious activity. Consumers should be wary of attempts by opportunistic fraudsters to exploit the breach by using fake Travelex social accounts, websites, emails and text messages offering ‘support’ to try and trick people into handing over personal information or bank details.
