McDonald's is the latest major firm to chase the plant-based-diet pound.
It will launch its first ever vegan meal in the UK in January.
Its new Veggie Dippers, made with red pepper, rice, sundried tomato pesto and split peas in breadcrumbs, have been accredited by The Vegan Society.
Customers will be able to order a fully vegan meal for the first time by teaming the dippers with Vegan Society-approved Fries and a soft drink.
“In the last 12 months we’ve seen an 80% uplift in customers ordering vegetarian options at McDonald’s," said Thomas O'Neill, head of food marketing at the burger chain.
