Thirteen migrants including several children were rescued off the coast of Folkestone on Sunday.
The coastguard and Border Force were called at 09:41 GMT after reports of a small boat in the English Channel.
The occupants were brought ashore and taken to the Kent intake until where claims for asylum are processed.
A further 11 migrants including a woman were also picked up by French authorities after being found about six miles from Boulogne.
They were suffering from slight hypothermia.
The Home Office says 17 migrants have been picked up off the coast of Dover overnight.
