A Pakistani Christian woman recounts the years she spent on death row for being convicted of blasphemy.
Last week we reported that Asia BIbi, the Christian woman who spent eight years on death row in Pakistan for blasphemy, had finally been flown to Canada where she's been given asylum. But her case is far from unique with hundreds charged since the law was tightened in the 1980s. Her lawyer, Saif Al Malook, has now taken on another such case - of a married couple accused of blasphemous text messages. (Pic: Asia Biba, Credit Asia Biba)
Pakistan's Supreme Court has rejected the final challenge to the acquittal of the Christian woman who had been sentenced to death for blasphemy. Asia Bibi spent eight years on death row before her conviction was overturned in October. Speaking immediately after the decision, her lawyer, Saif Ul Malook says the court's ruling is "a landmark judgement". (IMAGE: Asia Bibi CREDIT: Handout)
