  1. County UKIP MEP quits party

A UKIP MEP for Cumbria, Paul Nuttall, has resigned from the party.

He says the party's being taken in a direction which is harmful to Brexit, and that the association with far right activist Tommy Robinson will appall many moderate voters.

Like all MEPs, Mr Nuttall will lose office when the UK leaves the union.
