A charitable foundation set up in memory of Leicester City's former owner following his death in a helicopter crash is to hand out more than half a million pounds on his birthday.

Charities and groups of all sizes have been invited to bid for a share of £610,000 being made available by the Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation.

Leicester City said bids, which should fit the theme "Gift of a Wish" need to be received by the end of this month.

The donations will be handed out on what would have been Mr Vichai's 61st birthday on 4 April.

Six bailed over fight before Foxes helicopter crash

Six men arrested on suspicion of fighting outside Leicester City's King Power Stadium before the helicopter crash that killed club owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and four other people have been released on bail.

The brawl took place at about 19:30 following Leicester City's draw with West Ham on 27 October - about an hour before the tragedy.

Four men from Leicester and two men from London were questioned on suspicion of violent disorder and have been released on conditional bail.

A 56-year-old man from London who was also arrested faces no further action.

Leicestershire Police are continuing to circulate CCTV images of six people they still want to speak to about the trouble.
