A display of knitted poppies has been unveiled at Durham town hall.
The cascade of flowers was created by the City of Durham Parish Council, local businesses, artists and volunteers to honour Remembrance Sunday.
To make it even more poignant, the large poppies have words printed on them that were taken from letters which soldiers wrote to their loved ones during the War.
