The Royal Mint hopes to tempt rock fans to part with their cash for a new Queen coin.

it's the first time that a British band has been celebrated on UK coinage but fans will need to be relatively minted to buy one.

While prices range from £13 for the Brilliant Uncirculated £5 coin, keen fans are encouraged to splash out up to £2,100 for the One Ounce Gold proof coin.

Roger Taylor from Queen (pictured) said: “Marvellous, all this fuss over our band. I feel entirely spent.”

The Royal Mint plans further Music Legends coins later this year, "marking the work of other exceptional British musicians,” it said.

No more details are available but Business Live hopes to see a Status Quid coin soon or, if they extend it to US artists, maybe a Jackson Fiver.
