Fire crews are tackling a large fire which started on grassland earlier in East Lancashire.
Six fire crews began tackling the blaze at about 14:25 when it was about the size of three football pitches in the Britannia area of Bacup.
But this has been scaled back to four after a check from the service's air support unit, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said.
Crews have been joined by firefighters from Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire.
People living nearby are being warned by firefighters to close their doors and windows.
Lancashire fire crews are fighting a large blaze near Chorley after being called to a commercial premises at around 23.40 last night.
The brigade said 12 fire engines from across Lancashire and Greater Manchester and three aerial ladders were on the scene on Market Street, Adlington.
A spokesman said 20 people, evacuated from their homes on Railway View, were taken to a local pub.
It is believed the building was used for storage, but is a multi-business site.
Residents have been asked to keep doors and windows closed.
