A cache of different calibre shells uncovered on Kilve beach in Somerset has been safely detonated.
A woman was flown to the Cumberland Infirmary at Carlisle after falling on the descent from Wetherlam, in the Coniston range, and injuring her ankle.
The coastguard helicopter was called in by Coniston Mountain Rescue volunteers, who was also called out, and helped the rest of the group down to Tilberthwaite.
It was part of a busy Saturday in the Lake District for the Coastguard helicopter, which also lifted a casualty in extreme pain from a medical condition from near Burnmoor Tarn in west Cumbria, after training with the Wasdale mountain rescue volunteers.
