Ireland is getting a new central bank governor, according to reports.
He's New Zealand Treasury Secretary and Chief Executive Gabriel Makhlouf who replaces Philip Lane who leaves next month to join the European Central Bank's executive board
Mr Makhlouf is a former civil servant in the UK and becomes the first non-Irish national to be appointed to the role.
According to the New Zealand Treasury's website his responsibilities in the UK civil service ranged from policy development on domestic and international tax and welfare policy issues through to large-scale, customer-focused, operational delivery
