Iraq war blog suspect faces trial

A man faces trial accused of soliciting murder in relation to a blog listing MPs it claimed voted for the Iraq war.

Bilal Zaheer Ahmad, 23, of Dunstall, Wolverhampton, also faces three charges of collecting information of a kind likely to be useful for terrorism.

He appeared at the Old Bailey via a videolink and was remanded in custody until his trial in June next year.

It is alleged he solicited, encouraged, persuaded or endeavoured to persuade people to murder MPs.

Mr Ahmad did not enter a plea but will do at a plea and case management hearing in April.
