Briton missing on Norwegian boat in Antarctica storm
A Briton is among three people who have gone missing on a Norwegian boat in a storm off Antarctica.
New Zealand rescuers say the vessel, the Berserk, sent out a distress signal on Tuesday 20 miles (32km) north of the Scott Base research centre.
They say that on Thursday they searched an area of 1,500 square miles (3,900 sq km) after the storm passed but did not find the boat.
Norwegian Maritime Rescue said there were also two Norwegians on board.
Oeyvind Aadde of the service said two other crew members who had gone ashore on an expedition to reach the South Pole had called the rescue service on Thursday, saying they had lost contact with the boat.
