Cardiff man faces terror charges
A Cardiff man has appeared in court on terrorism charges following an investigation by the Wales Extremism and Counter Terrorism Unit.
Norman Faridi, 31, was arrested in the Cathays area of Cardiff on Thursday and appeared before Westminster magistrates in London on Saturday.
He is charged with three offences related to information that may be used for terrorist purposes.
He was remanded in custody and will return to court on 16 August.
Police said the investigation did not concern any immediate threat to public safety and was not connected in any way to the Olympics.
