Camilla cancels engagements because of ear infection
The Duchess of Cornwall has cancelled a series of engagements this week because of a severe ear infection and sinusitis, Clarence House has said.
They include an appearance at the Classical Brit Awards at the Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday night.
She was also due to celebrate National Community Meals week at a catering college in London on Wednesday
It is understood doctors advised her not to fly down from Scotland where she has been staying at Balmoral.
"The Duchess of Cornwall has developed sinusitis and a severe middle ear infection over the last few days which means she will not be able to carry out her engagements in London this evening and tomorrow," a Clarence House spokeswoman said.
Also on Wednesday, she was due to meet Madeline Mason - honoured as a "diamond champion" by the charity WRVS for her volunteering work with the Guide Dogs charity - at Clarence House.
The duchess, 65, had been expected to attend a charity screening of World War I film Private Peaceful, starring Richard Griffiths and Maxine Peake, on Wednesday night.
Charles and Camilla are due to visit Australia and New Zealand next month as part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
In April 2010, the duchess continued to carry out official engagements despite breaking her left leg while hill-walking in Scotland.
