Brusthom Ziamani in court on terror charges

A teenager accused of arming himself with a knife and hammer as he allegedly plotted to attack British soldiers has appeared in court.

Brusthom Ziamani, from Camberwell in south-east London, is charged with preparing an act of terrorism on or before 20 August this year.

The 19-year-old appeared by video link at the Old Bailey.

Mr Ziamani allegedly researched locations of military bases and encouraged others to engage in jihad.

He is also alleged to have written a letter setting out his plans to carry out an attack on military or government personnel.

He was remanded in custody until a plea and case management hearing on 4 December.
