Two former prison officers who were arrested over alleged corrupt payments have been released on bail, the Metropolitan Police has said.

A 47-year-old man and 44-year-old woman were arrested on Wednesday by officers working on Operation Elveden.

They were arrested for alleged misconduct in a public office and conspiracy to commit misconduct in a public office.

The pair, who were arrested in Suffolk, have been bailed to a date in June.
