Man who died following crash in Charley is identified

A man who died in hospital after two cars crashed on a Leicestershire road has been identified by police.

A Toyota Carina and a Toyota Avensis collided on the B591 Copt Oak Road, in Charley, on Monday night.

The driver of the Carina, Neil Jackson, 65, from Manchester, was taken to Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre, where he later died.

The female driver of the Avensis suffered minor injuries, was taken to hospital and later released.

Pc Paul Bingham said: "The Toyota Carina was travelling in the direction of Loughborough and the Avensis was travelling in the opposite direction when the collision happened.

"We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either of the vehicles prior to the collision, so please call us."
