Man arrested after girl's abduction from Birmingham

A man has been arrested in London on suspicion of abducting a teenager from Birmingham.

The 15-year-old girl, from the Soho area, had been reported missing by her family on Saturday, police said.

Metropolitan Police went to an address in the Hackney area of London where they found the missing girl safe and well, West Midlands officers said.

The man, also from Soho in Birmingham, was arrested on Tuesday. The girl has since been reunited with her family.

He has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Det Sgt Neil Kirkpatrick, from the Public Protection department at West Midlands Police, said: "It appears that this was an isolated incident where both the girl and the man knew each other."
