County Durham supermarket job drive goes mobile

A mobile job-shop has been set-up as part of a recruitment drive for dozens of workers at a new supermarket in County Durham.

The County Council has funded the "launchpad", a mobile office unit which will be stationed at Crook Market Place on Thursday.

The unit is used to take recruitment drives into rural communities.

Staff will be on hand to offer advice ahead of a new Sainsbury's supermarket opening in Bishop Auckland this winter.

The recruitment drive runs from 1000 BST until 1400 BST. Experts from JobCentre Plus, Sainsbury's and the council will be on hand.
