Tyne and Wear driver delay warning over windfarm convoy

Early-morning drivers in Tyne and Wear are being warned to expect delays because of a lorry convoy delivering parts to a Durham windfarm.

From Monday the police-escorted lorries will travel along the A19 and A1 to the Haswell Moor site in Haswell Plough.

They will be carrying components from the Port of Blyth from 0530 to 0800 BST to the E.On power company site.

The deliveries are expected to take two to three weeks but will not take place every day.
