Fred Shipley was found dead in his kitchen
A 39-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a man who was found dead in his County Durham home.
Fred Shipley was discovered with serious head injuries at Paradise Crescent, Easington, on 3 July.
Detectives from Durham Police believe the 59-year-old was bludgeoned to death.
Andrew Albert Johnson, of John Street, Easington Colliery, appeared before magistrates in Peterlee on Friday and was remanded in custody until Monday.
