Vandalism in Leicestershire causes delays to trains

Published

Trains from the East Midlands to London have been disrupted because of vandalism.

Vandals have targeted signalling equipment near Market Harborough in Leicestershire.

East Midlands Trains had to reduce services to London St Pancras from Nottingham, Leicester and Derby.

Engineers worked to resolve the problem and an East Midlands Trains spokeswoman said services were restored to normal by about 1600 BST on Friday.

Some 70 meters of cabling was taken from a railway line in Leicestershire on Friday morning.
