Three women arrested after a man suffered serious head injuries during an attack outside a Crawley nightclub have been released on police bail.

The 30-year-old Polish man was hit with a metal implement at the entrance of the Centaur Social Club in Langley Green on Saturday at about 2320 BST.

He is currently in a critical condition in a London hospital.

Sussex Police said a 28-year-old man from Westerham, Kent, was still being questioned by officers.

The 30-year-old victim, who is thought to live in the Crawley area, was attacked outside the club where a private party was being held.

Det Insp Pierre Serra said the force was seeking two other men over the assault.

He added: "We are viewing CCTV coverage and are actively seeking witnesses who may have seen a disturbance at the club entrance that night or the assault itself."
