Motorcyclist from Darlington killed in collision

A motorcyclist has been killed in a collision in County Durham.

Nigel Wright, 45, of West Crescent in Darlington, suffered fatal injuries in the collision between his Ducati and a Mercedes Benz on Saturday afternoon.

It happened on a B road outside a house in Laneside, Middleton in Teesdale, as the motorist was turning into the driveway of a property.

The car driver, a 66-year-old local woman, suffered minor injuries, but did not require hospital treatment.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened at 1450 BST.
