A man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after what police described as major disorder in Crawley.

Sussex Police said Antonio Batsimba, 22, from Dagenham in east London, has also been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm.

The prosecution follows a fight near Argos in Queensway, in Crawley town centre, which left two men with serious head injuries on 15 September.

Mr Batsimba is due to appear before magistrates in Crawley later.

Eight other men have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Six suspects have been bailed pending further inquiries and two have been released with no further action to be taken.
