A pedestrian dies in hospital day after crash in Essex

A 27-year-old man from Hertfordshire has died in hospital a day after he was hit by a car in Essex.

The pedestrian from Bishop's Stortford was struck by a Ford Focus car in The Street in the village of Sheering, just before 0715 BST on Thursday.

He was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in nearby Harlow and later transferred to the Royal London Hospital with serious head injuries.

The man was certified dead at the hospital on Friday morning.
