Luke Walker is accused of beating Chelsea Hyndman to death
A man accused of murdering his girlfriend in Crete has been released on bail after being imprisoned for the past five months.
Luke Walker from Brierley Hill was arrested over the death of his 21-year-old girlfriend Chelsea Hyndman, from West Yorkshire, in May.
The release was conditional on his family depositing a surety of £13,000.
The 22-year-old must remain on the Greek island until his trial but no date has been set.
The issue of his detention in prison without a trial date was raised in the House of Commons on Tuesday.
Prisons Minister Crispin Blunt said the Foreign Office had been working with the Greek authorities.
