Screen East film finance manager charged with theft

Screen East promoted the region as the ideal location for films

The finance manager of the former regional film funding body in eastern England has been charged with theft.

Melvin Douglas Welton, 61, who worked for the Norwich and Watford-based Screen East, will appear before Norwich magistrates on 14 January 2011.

Mr Welton, of Great Yarmouth, faces five charges of theft - amounting to £7,500 - from Screen East between 2006 and 2010.

Screen East went into liquidation in October.
