The headquarters of a cleaning fluids manufacturer is moving to Cambridgeshire but production will continue at its base in Norfolk.

Jeyes has announced it will move 80 staff to a new international head office near Cambridge in March 2011.

Jeyes will continue to manufacture cleaning products in Thetford where it has been one of the town's main employers for the past 40 years.

The firm said workers at the Norfolk factory would increase from 250 to 300.

The firm is in the process of closing some of its operations at sites in Preston, Lancashire, and Mold, North Wales and some workers will relocate to Thetford.

Human resources director, Anne Bettridge, said: "After proper consultations with our head office staff in Thetford, we very much hope that around 80 people, the majority of the employees concerned, will operate from the new facilities near Cambridge.

"Our remaining 40 head office staff will continue to be based in Norfolk."
