Three teenagers have died in a head-on traffic collision in South Yorkshire.
Police said the crash happened on Monday night near Mexborough when a silver Vauxhall Corsa collided with a VW Golf on the outskirts of the town.
Jonathan Scott, from Conisbrough and Robert Ryan, of Mexborough, both aged 17 and a 16-year-old girl who was in the rear seat, died at the scene.
The Golf driver, an elderly man, suffered minor injuries.
Another teenage male who was in the rear of the Corsa suffered serious injuries and was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said the crash happened when the Corsa was overtaking a silver Fiat Punto on Adwick Road travelling out of Mexborough towards Adwick-upon-Dearne near the junction with Crow Tree Lane.
A Vauxhall Astra had just overtaken the Fiat successfully.
The Corsa then tried overtaking the Fiat.
The police spokesman said: "Before it could complete the manoeuvre the Corsa collided head-on with a Volkswagen Golf travelling in the opposite direction."
The accident happened just after 2000 GMT on Monday.
Police later named the two youths who died but not the 16-year-old girl.
A spokesman said a 19-year-old Swinton man and an 18-year-old man from Mexborough were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving but later bailed pending further inquiries.
Around 30 bunches of flowers had been laid at the foot of a signpost opposite the junction.
