Severe gales have caused damage and travel disruption across the Yorkshire area.

A number of planes had to be diverted at Leeds Bradford Airport as winds reached up to 70mph across the region.

The gusts ripped cladding off a building at Clarence Dock in Leeds and part of the roof at a NHS building in Doncaster blew off damaging cars.

Fire crews were also called to the Frenchgate shopping centre in Doncaster after roof panels came loose.
