Car driver named following crash near Uttoxeter

A man who died when a car and a van were involved in a collision in Staffordshire has been named.

Craig Douglas Logan, 41, of St John Street, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, was driving a Vauxhall Vectra on the A518 near Uttoxeter early on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old driver of a white Transit van was arrested by police on suspicion of causing death by driving without due care and attention.

The man has been bailed, pending further inquiries, to a date in May.

The van was travelling along the A518 from the direction of Weston towards Uttoxeter.

At the same time the car was travelling in the opposite direction.

Mr Logan was pronounced dead at the scene following the incident, which happened at about 0545 GMT.
